THE VACUUM CATASTROPHE!

I’m going to explain this one like you’re 5ish.

Physicists were trying to understand the universe, so they calculated the density of a vacuum and found it to be really really really tiny. Then, they took all of the stars and galaxies and quasars etc. that we know of in our universe and put it in a trash compactor and squashed it down to be the same size as the vacuum previously measured. This density of that thing turned out to be significantly less than what they calculated for the vacuum! 39 orders of magnitude less. That’s a 10 with 39 zeroes after it….

These days wikipedia reroutes “the vacuum catastrophe” to the “cosmological constant problem”. Here’s a few gems from this page:

  • “Depending on the Planck energy cutoff and other factors, the discrepancy is as high as 120 orders of magnitude,[1] a state of affairs described by physicists as “the largest discrepancy between theory and experiment in all of science[1] and “the worst theoretical prediction in the history of physics.”[2]
  • Renormalizartion: The vacuum energy in quantum field theory can be set to any value by renormalization. This view treats the cosmological constant as simply another fundamental physical constant not predicted or explained by theory.[9] Such a renormalization constant must be chosen very accurately because of the many-orders-of-magnitude discrepancy between theory and observation, and many theorists consider this ad-hoc constant as equivalent to ignoring the problem.[1]

Renormalization is basically what they did to us in school. I’ve had to re-renormalize myself since then but anyways. They decided to pretend like it never happened, and then said since it can’t be explained by theory, it can be set to any value. Right.

The EPR paradox

This just reminded me of the EPR paradox AKA the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox. To quote wikipedia the EPR paradox “is a thought experiment witch which they argued that the description of physical reality provided by quantum mechanics was incomplete.”

I’ll have to explain this one later….like way later.

What’s the deal with infinity?

Pythagoras quote: Man know thyself; then thou shalt know the Universe and...
Socrates quote: To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom.
Socrates quote: The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

After reading those quotes you might be asking yourself “how can all of those be true simultaneously?” Your next thought might be “what does this have to do with infinity….?”

In order to visualize this a simple mental exercise is helpful.

Imagine that you have left your body and are looking down at yourself. Then you move a little bit farther and farther to a point where you see yourself sitting wherever you are. Then farther so that you see your house and then even farther to the point where even hour house looks like a tiny dot. Keep going farther so you start to see the city you live in then farther so you can see the continent and at this point the city looks like even a tiny dot. Keep going so you can see all of earth, then farther and you can see all the planets in the solar system. Keep going farther and farther so you can now see the entire milky way galaxy. Then farther and you can see superclusters and more clusters . Then start to go back, slowly passing back by the super clusters and back through the milky way, back in into your solar system and back to earth and eventually back into your body.

Ok, if you made it this far you deserve an award.

Now try the opposite. Go inside yourself. Imagine that you have left your body again and are flying towards yourself. As you get closer you get bigger and bigger, and slowly you start to see your body is made up of literally trillions of cells. As you approach one of these cells you start to realize it is actually made up of trillions of atoms so you approach the atoms and see that it is made up of protons and neutrons and then those protons and neutrons are made up of subatomic particles and smaller particles and smaller particles.

Unfortunately, most modern day physicists didn’t do enough self-reflection or meditation. Because if they understood this concept they wouldn’t be spending billions of dollars on particle accelerators trying to find smaller and smaller particles just to put their names on them. They would soon realize that if they built larger and larger accelerators they would find smaller and smaller particles forever.

To summarize: there are at least two kinds of infinity – infinitely large and infinitely small. Infinitely small is the best visualized with division, both in nature and mathematics.

Who are we?

Seriously who the fuck are we? How did we get here and why? What is “we”? How can I even have the ability to realize that I’m having thoughts? How much of our history has been destroyed and how much have we forgotten or overlooked? What is the difference between a fact, a theory, and a hypothesis? What is the scientific method? What are the similarities between science and religion? What do we all have in common? Why do the answers to these questions matter and how does it affect each of us personally?

These are questions that most of us have hopefully had at some point in our lives.

The following will be essentially a diary of my ideas as well as extensive documentation of my research citing people much smarter than me and the lying sacks of shit in the main stream media:

“Outer space” is a very misleading term. We should really be calling it “out nature”.

Everything and nothing are the same thing.

We all truly have infinite potential. Seriously.

This is the flower of life. It’s a 64 tetrahedron grid inside of a circle. This is a beautiful fractal that accurately represents our universe in 2-dimensions.

And this is why they built pyramids literally all around the world.

I mean seriously most people think this thing is a tomb.

Even though not a single pharaoh was actually inside of said pyramids. That my friends, is a fact.
